Subhash Chandra Bose
Subhash Chandra Bose, also known as Netaji, was a great freedom fighter and revolutionary leader of India. He dedicated his life to free India from British rule. His patriotism, leadership skills and courage earned him Made him a unique hero of the Indian freedom struggle.
Early life
Subhash Chandra Bose was born on 23 January 1847 in Cuttack, Odisha. His father Janakinath Bose was an eminent lawyer and his mother Prabhadevi was a religious woman. Bose completed his initial education at Revesha Collegiate, Cuttack. After this he graduated from Calcutta University and went to England for further studies. There he cleared the Civil Services (ICS) examination. But he left it for the purpose of serving the country.
Contribution in freedom struggle
Subhash Chandra Bose was associated with Mahatma Gandhi and the Indian National Congress from the beginning. However, his approach was different from Gandhiji's non-violence spirit movement. He believed that armed struggle was necessary to achieve independence.
In 1938, he also became the President of the Indian National Congress. In 1939 he resigned from the Congress due to differences of opinion with Gandhiji and other senior leaders and formed a new movement called "Forward Bloc".
Formation of Azad Hind Fauj
Subhash Chandra Bose formed the Azad Hind Fauj with the help of Japan and Germany during World War II. He roused slogans like "Delhi Chalo" and "Tum Mujhe Khoon Do Main Tumtu Azadi Dunga" to the freedom fighters. His army fought many battles against the British service and made a new important contribution to the Indian freedom struggle.
Death
The death of Subhash Chandra Bose remains a mystery even today. On August 18, 1945, the news of his death in a plane crash came to light, but the extent of it has not been clarified till date.
